A defendant may appeal the decision of the mayor’s court within 10 days and request that the case be transferred to the municipal court, county court, or court of common pleas. A certified copy of the proceedings, together with all the original papers, including any bail, shall be forwarded to the clerk of court within 15 days, where it will be assigned a new case number and be treated as a new case [R.C. 1905.22-25].
